An Ode to Alexander (Lee) McQueen (Stone Women)

One of the most beautiful books I’ve ever seen is Lee McQueen’s “Savage Beauty”. I believe it was a book which accompanied the Met’s exhibit of his work, which I gladly purchased and proudly displayed on my coffee table.

In the book are various mannequins adorned with McQueen gowns. What I love most about this is the industrial feeling of the lighting and the simple gray cycs, with the intricacy of the McQueen sculptures.

I thought it would be interested to explore this aesthetic more. And while the AI did nail some of these features, it felt almost redundant and not nearly as good as the original thinker (McQueen).

I know a lot of artists have problems with AI, but let this be the example that sometimes it’s just not enough to let code generate art.
