I often love to create pin boards where the story is formed by the sequence of imagery that happens to fall into the InDesign document. It’s almost as though you’re telling yourself a story through the sequence of random pictures, and the story is often more interesting than what you were thinking up in the first place.

In this case, I was messing around with bird prompts and specialty cameras and the AI combined the two, leaving me with a weird narrative of a bird finding a camera during a storm.

Continuing on this path of letting the AI tell me the story, I happened into making a bunch of fairly realistic landscapes. Exploring the realm of black and white photography through AI opens up a world where powerful landscapes that defy reality and macro shots of birds and waves can be created with striking detail. This experimentation with AI allows for the creation of landscapes that, while they don’t exist in our world, carry an emotional weight and depth that is palpable.
