Wildin’ editorially With Fantasy People, Places, and Birds, Part 2

One weekend I decided to see what I could story I could tell with the AI using a simple beach prompt and the crop tool in Photoshop.
I often love to create pin boards where the story is formed by the sequence of imagery that happens to fall into the InDesign document. It’s almost as though you’re telling yourself a story through the sequence of random pictures, and the story is often more interesting than what you were thinking up in the first place.
In a lot of ways this felt like conditioning for a sport, but with the brain – Almost like layout training, keeping both my fingers fresh with the short keys and my mind fresh with what we all use to decide what looks “good”. This is usually developing a strong sense of gut instincts with, likely, years of looking at other imagery and art to understand what “feels balanced’. It all reminds me that the process of good design instincts is so complex and unknown.Â
